Ray's songs are so beautifully poignant and a bit melancholy, with a romantic undertone. I literally think I played this one on repeat for hours in high school. My parents sure did love it too ;)
These lyrics express the hope that with our special someone nothing else matters. You will shelter each other from the pain and uncertainty that exists outside the world of the two of you. Though reality often seeps in to the life you create together, the shelter you provide is unmatched.
